What do you love about architecture? Working with our great clients, listening to their stories, and helping them find the right solution. What do you enjoy doing outside of work? Playing pick-up basketball with my two teenage sons ... Two words: Dunk-zilla! Favorite Food? Growing up in Milwaukee, it has to be Tator-tot casserole. |

What was your childhood nickname? “Beans”. My father nicknamed me beans because for whatever reason I loved all beans. Kidney beans, lima beans, chili beans…what kid likes beans?!? Are you a cat or dog person? I like dogs, but am much more of a cat person. I love their independence. However, I have always been blessed with cats that are more like dogs: greeting me at the door, enjoying people’s company, and snuggling on the couch. |

What is one important skill that you think everyone should have?
Empathy. For an architect especially, but all people should have the ability to empathize - to understand each person and their collective histories, stories and viewpoints is endlessly valuable. What is your favorite way to relax? Beekeeping. What is more relaxing than thousands of bees flying around? But really, the methodical and slow process of tending to a hive of bees is relaxing. |
JARED KRAFT brings a wealth of knowledge to any project with a wide body of work in the residential, commercial, hospitality, and educational sectors. As an architectural associate at Dan Beyer Architects, Jared uses this broad experience to adeptly look at any project from multiple vantage points, ensuring a well-crafted project that reflects its community, location, and individual user simultaneously.
Earning a Master’s degree in Architecture at UW-Milwaukee in May of 2014, and through the participation in the 2014 Marcus Prize with architect Sou Fujimoto, research in Japan, and France, Jared developed an acute awareness of the active relationship architecture plays with its inhabitants and location.
Jared completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Architecture from Columbia College and the Dublin Institute of Technology in May of 2010 with a focus on urban adaptive reuse, art history and furniture design. While appearing broad, the three areas of focus allow for projects to be designed in dialogue of the urban fabric, historical context, and the human scale as it applies to the built environment.
